Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to an accessible website, the WCAG standard we meet under The Accessibility for Manitobans Act, and how to tell us about a barrier.
Our commitment
Nord Marketing is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is not a checkbox for us. We build websites for a living, and we hold our own site to the same standard we build to for clients.
This statement explains the standard we follow, what we have done, and how to reach us if something is not working for you.
The standard we follow
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. This is the level required for private-sector organizations under the Accessible Information and Communication Standard of The Accessibility for Manitobans Act, which private-sector organizations in Manitoba have been required to meet since May 1, 2025.
Where we reasonably can, we build to the newer WCAG 2.2 Level AA criteria, so the site meets the current Manitoba requirement and goes a step beyond it.
What we have done
Accessibility is built into this site rather than bolted on. Concretely, that includes:
- Clear structure: proper page landmarks, a single main heading per page, and a logical heading order that screen readers can navigate.
- Keyboard access: every interactive element can be reached and operated with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline so you always know where you are.
- Readable contrast: body text is tested well above the WCAG AA contrast minimum, and colour is never the only way we convey meaning.
- Descriptive text: meaningful images carry alternative text, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology so they do not add noise.
- Usable forms: form fields have real, associated labels and clear error messages, not placeholder-only cues.
- Comfortable targets: buttons and links are sized to be easy to tap or click.
- Respecting motion preferences: if your device is set to reduce motion, we honour that and turn animations down.
- Responsive and labelled: the site adapts to phones and tablets, declares its language, and works with browser zoom.
Alternate formats and support
If you need information from this site in a different format, such as large print, plain text, or read aloud, we will provide it in a format that works for you, at no extra cost, and within a reasonable time. Just ask using the contact details below and tell us what would help.
An ongoing effort
Accessibility is a continuous process, not a one-time task. We test the site with automated tools, keyboard-only navigation, and screen-reader checks, and we fix issues as we find them. As we add or update pages, we hold the new content to the same standard.
Third-party content
Some content or tools on the site may come from third parties whose accessibility we do not fully control, such as embedded maps or widgets. Where that is the case, we choose accessible options where we can and work to reduce any barriers. If third-party content is blocking you, please tell us and we will help you get the information another way.
Tell us about a barrier
If you run into a barrier on this site, or you have a suggestion, we want to hear it. Your feedback helps us fix real problems. Contact us using the details below and, if you can, tell us the page you were on and what happened. We will acknowledge your feedback and work to resolve the issue as quickly as we reasonably can.
