Privacy Policy
How Nord Marketing collects, uses, and protects personal information on this website, and the privacy rights you have under Canadian law.
What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Daniel Hentov, operating as Nord Marketing (“Nord Marketing”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada handles personal information collected through this website, nordmarketing.ca. It applies to visitors who browse the site, contact us, or submit one of our forms.
We handle personal information in line with Canada’s federal privacy law, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), which governs private-sector organizations carrying on commercial activity in Manitoba. Work we do for paying clients is governed by the separate written agreement for that engagement, not this website policy.
The short version
Here is the plain-language summary. The rest of this page is the detail.
- We only collect what we need to answer you and to understand how the site is used.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we never have.
- Analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you accept them in the cookie banner.
- If you accept advertising cookies, Google and Meta get a scrambled copy of your email and phone so we can see which ad worked. Never the readable value, and never your message.
- You can ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you fill in a contact or booking form, or reach us by email, phone, or WhatsApp, we collect what you choose to share. Typically that is your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you write in your message. You are never required to give us more than you want to.
Information we collect automatically
When you visit the site, and only where you have allowed it, we collect standard analytics data to understand what is working: the pages you view, the approximate location (city or region, derived from your IP address), your device and browser type, the site or search that referred you, and how you interact with pages such as clicks, scroll depth, and whether you started a form. This is used in aggregate to improve the site, not to identify you personally.
What we do not collect
We do not take payments on this site, so we never collect card or banking details here. We do not run visitor accounts or logins. We do not knowingly collect information from children (see below).
Cookies and consent
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We group them the way our consent banner does:
- Necessary: required for the site and the consent choice itself to work. Always on.
- Functional: remember preferences to improve your experience.
- Analytics and performance: help us measure and improve the site (Google Analytics).
- Advertising: measure which ads bring people to the site, and support remarketing. We run the Meta pixel and Google Ads conversion tracking. Neither loads until you accept this category.
When you first arrive, everything except the necessary category is denied by default. Nothing in the analytics or advertising categories runs until you accept it. We use Google Consent Mode v2, so your choice is applied before any tag loads. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie settings link in the site, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Third-party services we use
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the site. Each only receives what it needs for its job, and each has its own privacy policy.
| Provider | What it does | Where it processes data |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Analytics 4, Tag Manager, Google Ads, reCAPTCHA) | Website analytics, tag management, ad conversion measurement, and spam protection on forms | United States |
| CookieYes | Records and applies your cookie consent choice | European Union |
| Cloudflare | Content delivery, security, and abuse protection | Global network |
| Cloudways / DigitalOcean | Website hosting | Canada (Toronto) |
| Elastic Email | Delivers form-notification emails to us | United States / European Union |
| Meta Platforms | Advertising pixel and conversion measurement, only once you accept advertising cookies | United States |
Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam and abuse. Its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Ad measurement and scrambled identifiers
When you send us a form and you have accepted advertising cookies, Google and Meta also receive a one way scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address and phone number. Neither company gets the readable value from us, and neither gets your message. They compare the scrambled value against their own records so we can tell that an ad we paid for is what brought you here. Google calls this enhanced conversions and Meta calls it the Conversions API. If you decline advertising cookies, none of it is sent.
How we use your information
We use the information above only to:
- respond to your inquiry and follow up about working together;
- provide, maintain, and improve the website and our services;
- measure how our marketing and pages perform, including matching an enquiry back to the ad that brought you here;
- protect the site against spam, fraud, and abuse; and
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Email and CASL
Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) governs commercial email. If you opt in to our newsletter or ask us to follow up, we will only send commercial messages with your consent. Every message identifies us and includes a working unsubscribe link, and we act on unsubscribe requests promptly. Replying to an inquiry you sent us is a response you asked for, not a commercial broadcast.
When we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share it in these limited situations:
- Service providers: the vendors listed above, who process data on our behalf and are bound to protect it.
- Advertising platforms: where you accepted advertising cookies, Google and Meta receive the scrambled identifiers described above. They are never given your message, and never the readable values.
- Legal requirements: where we are required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfer: if the business is ever sold or reorganized, information may transfer as part of that deal, subject to this policy.
Where your data is stored
The website and its database are hosted in Canada (Toronto). Some of our providers, such as Google, Cloudflare, and Meta, process data on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. When information is handled in another country it may be accessible to that country’s authorities under its laws. We only work with providers that offer appropriate safeguards for the data they handle.
How long we keep it
We keep the details you send through a form or by email for as long as we need them to handle your inquiry and any resulting relationship, and then delete them when they are no longer needed. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings and is held in aggregate. If you ask us to delete your information sooner, we will, unless we are required to keep it.
Your privacy rights
Under PIPEDA you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Withdraw consent for cookies, analytics, or marketing at any time; and
- Unsubscribe from any commercial email we send.
To exercise any of these, email us at daniel@nordmarketing.ca and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption across the site and reputable hosting and infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to other sites
Our site may link to third-party websites, such as client sites or our social profiles. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Please review their policies before sharing information with them.
Children
This site and our services are directed at businesses, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices, tools, or the law change. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be made clear on this page.
